Went back in September ’24 and just posting about this gem. From the looks it’s a very typical restaurant storefront but as soon as you walk in to its quaint bistro style it has its charm. We ordered a variety of Dim Sum and we were impressed and enjoyed the variety.
Had an excellent experience at this cozy casual simple dim sum place. The food was very fresh and the service was quite fast. A lot of great flavors with some tasty crispy textures as well. The portions were nice and fit the pricing. Would definitely come back here again.
This restaurant is cozy and inviting, and feels like eating at grandma's. The staff are welcoming, and the food is so comforting. We got the dinner combination with: - shrimp dumpling - won ton soup - general Tao's chicken - shrimp with cashews and veggies - yang chow fried rice The shrimp dumpling was tender, and packed with delicious shrimp chunks. The won ton soup was so hearty and stuffed with filling. Great sweetness of the general Tao's chicken and I love when there's more chicken than veggies - solid value! Shrimp with cashews and veggies was a great addition. The food came super quickly and was piping hot! Overall this place is a gem, with great value and comforting food.
The quality of the dim sum was incredible. There was about a 15-minute wait to sit down as the place was bustling. Once seated, the service was fast and the food was fresh. Highly recommended. Street parking is available in the area.
The food was really good. My wife really likes congee here. So far all the food here tasted really good. The price is some what not bad. Little bit lack of space but enough to fit enough people to eat. Fast service, food came out fast.
Food quality is absolutely amazing! I got the beef braised noodles, and the meat was cooked to perfection, noodles were so bouncy and the portions are amazing. The service was also excellent. Food came super quick and our server was always there for our needs.
Came here for a quick mid afternoon late lunch to get a few small plates off the dim sum menu. Quick, efficient and kind service. Food was cooked quickly and piping hot. The traditional pan fried noodles let off an aroma of “wok hei” (or breath of the wok / wok energy), a prized characteristic of Chinese wok cooking not easily achieved; they were aromatic, a bit crunchy and a bit tender and absolutely delicious. The shrimp siu mai were large and plump; though not the best I’ve had (perhaps needs a little more seasoning) were satisfying. The blanched gai lan were very fresh, not at all over cooked and remained crunchy while tender to the bite. Some of the best dim sum to be had in the city. Street parking out front, free on weekends. Easy access via public transit, cycling, e-scooter. Maybe not wheel chair accessible as tables are crammed in there. Clean and simple restaurant.
Love the authenticity, the food has never disappointed and this is a icon to the Ottawa food scene. Highly recomend the congee with the bread sticks.
